The Tim Gaskin Legacy Foundation joins the shooting community in mourning the sudden loss of Eric Jackson.

Eric was a Grandmaster-level shooter, a respected competitor, a Range Officer, and someone TJ deeply admired. To our family, that connection makes this loss especially personal.

Just last weekend, Eric competed in and served as an RO at the Tim Gaskin Go-Fast Memorial Match. Knowing that this would become his final match makes his presence there even more meaningful to us. He spent that weekend doing what he loved, serving the sport and the people who make up this incredible shooting community.

Eric represented the kind of excellence, dedication, and brotherhood that leaves an impact far beyond scores and classifications. Shooters like Eric help shape the next generation simply by the example they set, and TJ was one of those who looked up to him.

We are grateful that our paths crossed, grateful that Eric shared that final weekend with us, and honored that his story will forever be connected to the legacy we are working to carry forward.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Eric’s family, friends, teammates, and everyone in the shooting community who knew and loved him.

May we continue to honor those who came before us by carrying forward the lessons, friendships, service, and passion they left behind.
